As you can see, I had trouble accessing the site, but I pretty much got the angle correct. The area is fenced off for a new park. After construction is completed in 2012 the area will be open (and unobstructed) to the public.The photo was shot in Manhattan looking towards Brooklyn with the Manhattan bridge in the foreground and the Brooklyn bridge in the background.
