Merry Christmas 1977

I was a die-hard Barbra fan by Christmas 1977. Look closely and you can see the evidence- Simply Streisand and the Barbra poster from What's Up, Doc? On a side note, I have the coffee table in my living room now. I still have the cork pencil holder located on the coffee table, but the cash inside of it is long gone. Wished I still had the sweater and my hair has been long gone for a couple of decades now.

Christmas Time for the Jews

On the recent airing of a Saturday Night Live Christmas special, one segment was an animated musical short called "Christmastime for the Jews" sung by Darlene Love. One of the lyrics talk about cruising the street listening to Barbra Streisand! The scene The Second Barbra Streisand Album CD on the dashboard.

Barbra in Walmart 1981

Found this image on the internet. It's inside Walmart from 1981. If you look at the mobiles hanging from the ceiling, you'll see Barbra's name.

The Main Event at the Cinerama Dome

At my last visit to the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood I noticed this wall poster display with sports-themed movies. If you look closely, you can find The Main Event.

The Guilt Trip preview screening - Part 4

The Guilt Trip preview screening - Part 3

Some screen captures from the live Q&A after the movie. Barbra was relaxed and spontaneous.

The Guilt Trip preview screening - Part 2

I won't review the movie here. Others are better at writing standard movie reviews and let's face it, I can hardly be unbiased when it comes to Barbra movies. I won't spoil anything for you here but will say it's part comedy, part drama. It's geared for a big box office return. I cried at points in the movie. Barbra will probably be nominated for a Golden Globe award, but I don't think she'll be Oscar nominated (Don't shoot me!) I wouldn't complain if she was, but I'm not expecting it. Of course, you may reach your own conclusion after you see the movie for yourself.

The Guilt Trip preview screening - Part 1

Had a chance to see The Guilt Trip today at a special screening at the AMC 24 in Aventura, Florida. That's the back of Richard Jay-Alexander's head at the bottom of the screen.

The Guilt Trip at the Airport

During my travels at Thanksgiving, I saw this poster for The Guilt Trip in the Atlanta airport terminal.

Color Me Barbra - Philadephia Museum of Art - Part 18

This was the best I could do capturing the corner. The lighting was muting so you can barely make out the corner (no flash photography was allowed). The artwork block getting the exact shot and I doubt the museum staff would be willing to temporarily move it. I included the shot anyway because I love the closeup of Barbra.
